Set up in a building inside the factory in Crusinallo di Omegna (Verbania), Alessi Museum collects a vast group of prototypes, products no longer produced, molds, designer installations, graphic documents, designs, photos, books, magazines, and catalogs. The complex of these materials constitutes an organized archive of Alessi’s cultural identity and, more generally, a collection of applied art and design of XX and XXI century, with pieces now rare. The Museum thus performs a dual function. On one side, it is an operational archive closely embedded in the corporate functions, on the other it is a design collection characterized by cultural activities aimed at enhancing its contents: articles, videos, publications, university lectures, loans and temporary exhibitions created in collaboration with international design museums (including Centre Pompidou of Paris, Guggenheim Museum and MOMA of New York, Victoria & Albert Museum of London, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Triennale di Milano, Die Neue Samlung of Munich, Powerhouse Museum of Sydney, Stedelijk Museum of Amsterdam).

Since 2016, Museum has offered “Lectures inside the archive”, educational activities intended for graduate students and built on specific needs indicated by their teachers. Designed by Alessandro Mendini and curated by Francesca Appiani, Alessi Museum can be visited by appointment only.
