The SAME Museum takes visitors on a journey through the history of Italian mechanized farming, revealing the evolution that has taken place over the years in agricultural technology and offering an insight into a crucial sector of production for this country. The exhibits in this journey of discovery represent three separate themes: the tractors built between 1927 and 1983; technology, from engines to mechanical components; communication, with material ranging from advertising leaflets to product catalogues. In the exhibition area of the museum, a collection of vintage tractors and engines encircling the machines in the current range retrace over 90 years of history of the company. The SDF Archives were founded to preserve and showcase the historical documentation produced over the long history of the company and the individual brands of the group: SAME, Lamborghini Trattori, Hürlimann, DEUTZ-FAHR and Grégoire. The archives contain over 260,000 technical drawings and 40,000 other catalogued documents (photographic library, technical and advertising documents, administrative documents and a specialised library). Together, the Museum and the Historical Archives is a window onto the technical evolution of the machines of yesterday, just a stone’s throw from the factory where the tractors and technology of tomorrow are developed and built. Today, SDF is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of tractors, harvesting machines and diesel engines. It distributes products through the SAME, DEUTZ-FAHR, Lamborghini Trattori, Hürlimann and Grégoire.
