THE LAVAZZA MUSEUM

The Lavazza Museum is a company museum that offers a journey through global coffee culture from sensory and emotional angles, a journey interwoven with the history of the Lavazza family and, through it, Italian industrial 20th Century history. An interactive coffee cup, a remarkable multimedia system and evocative texts written by the Scuola Holden (a leading Turin based storytelling institution) under the supervision of Alessandro Baricco, a famous italian writer, mean that visits can be enjoyed on a personalized and highly experiential level. The Museum is made up of  5 “galleries”: “Casa Lavazza” traces the company’s more than 125 years history, “La Fabbrica” focuses on coffee production, “La Piazza” celebrates the ritual of coffee, “L’Atelier” showcases the company’s creative projects and “Universo” invites visitors to reflect on their Lavazza Museum experience.

At the end of the tour it’s possible to taste the finest Lavazza blends and exclusive Coffee Design recipes.

In collaboration with the Superintendence of Architectural and Cultural Heritage It’s also possible to visit the Archaeological Area, adjacent to the Museum, discovered during the basement excavation work for the headquarter “Nuvola Lavazza”, which preserves the remains of an early Christian Basilica dating back to IV a.C.

Inside the Museum are also the company’s Archives, which hold more than 8,000 documents, stories and images that represent the more than 125 years of the company’s history.
