The Intesa Sanpaolo Group Historical Archives is one of the most important banking archives in Europe.

Created in 1984 as Historical Archives of Banca Commerciale Italiana, now it manages, in Milan, the archival heritage of the Cassa di Risparmio delle Provincie Lombarde (established in 1823), the Banco Ambrosiano Veneto (1892) and the Banca Commerciale Italiana (1894), and, in Rome-Acilia, that of the Istituto Mobiliare Italiano (1931).

Alongside 12 linear kilometres of documents spanning from 1472 to 2006, there are thousands of videos, a collection of 1500 money boxes from all over the world, as well as an iconographic section consisting of architectural drawings, sketches, posters and advertising graphics.

A flagship of its collections is the photographic section, with millions of photos, including those of the Publifoto Archives, made up of about 7 million pictures of events, people and places taken from the early 1930s to the 1990s, and recently acquired by the Intesa Sanpaolo Group.
