The Fondazione Fiera Milano Historical Archives preserve the history of Fiera di Milano with documents produced by Ente Fiera since 1920, the year of the first Trade Fair. The documents housed there measure more than one kilometer and include posters, photographs, catalogs, newspapers, books, video footage and various documents, that also explore the stories  of exhibiting companies, visitors, exhibitors and workers. The Archives were recognized to be of significant historical interest by the Superintendent of Archives for the Lombardy Regional Government in a note dated 1 February 2005.

Fondazione Fiera Milano has launched an entirely self-financed campaign of digitalisation and cataloguing of the Historical Archives photographic heritage.
The Historical Archives of Fondazione Fiera Milano are a partner in various initiatives:

  • Museimpresa – Italian Association of Company Archives and Museums which has been promoting and linking companies that have chosen to privilege culture as an added value tool since 2001.
  • Company archives website, a special department at the National Archives System (SAN), set up and promoted by the Directorate General of Archives (DGA) to safeguard the historical archives of public and private Italian companies.
  • Rete Fotografia, an association that offers a networking and info space for photography professionals and companies.
  • ANAI – Associazione Nazionale Archivistica Italiana
