Part museum, part cultural endeavor, the Accademia del Caffè Espresso, which was recently inaugurated by La Marzocco, houses the company’s historical archive and museum and a center for research, innovation, and knowledge revolving around the world of coffee.
Pian di San Bartolo, Florence 1960. La Marzocco officially opens the doors of its historic location. The headquarters was considered more laboratory than typical “workshop”. A place for artists, craftsmen, and aficionados to meet, the site has forever and perfectly represented the architectural philosophy of La Marzocco.
Sixty years later, its values persist. The site underwent careful restoration to preserve the original structure and architectural design and has been enhanced with a modern style and technological implementations. The desire is to combine past, present and future, as well as art and science, craftsmanship and technology, and above all to connect those who produce coffee with those who consume it, all while savoring quality espresso, delighting in the exhibition spaces and taking part in rich educational programs.
