Buzzi is an international multi-regional group headquartered in Casale Monferrato (AL) and involved in the production of cement and ready-mix concrete. The firm operates in 14 countries and employs approximately 10,000 people.
Buzzi’s AREA907 museum is located inside the Trino Cement Plant (VC). Establishing a museum of the plant’s machinery within its industrial habitat has allowed us to show the story of both the technology and the process in their natural environment, creating a truly immersive and physical experience rather than a virtual one.
The exhibition reclaims and highlights the historical industrial processes of Buzzi’s first plant, which, like the company, was founded in 1907. As a result of reconfiguring the layout of the plant’s boundary and the comprehensive set of historic machinery still in existence at the cement plant, we were able to create an actual museum circuit that is perfectly integrated within the current operations of the plant.
After being greeted and given personal protective equipment (helmet and high-visibility vest), visitors begin the tour inside the industrial area.
The room named after Sandro Buzzi houses a permanent exhibition by the artist Giuseppe Stampone, after consultations with employees and former employees of the plant, who were actively involved them in the creation of an Abecedary and a Neo-dimensional Map.
