Established in 1998 on the initiative of the Olivetti Company, in concert with Fondazione Adriano Olivetti and other relevant private and public partners, Associazione Archivio Storico Olivetti collects, reorders, preserves, studies and valorizes the documental legacy of both the Company and the Olivetti Family.
The ongoing work on this heritage, composed of documents, correspondences, publications, poster, draws, pictures, videos and products, allows to process, describe and progressively digitalize the materials conserved.
Furthermore the association assists scholars from all over the world on their researches, collaborates for the realization of cultural events and activities, curates a permanent exhibition in Ivrea and publishes books and papers to promote the knowledge of the Olivetti history and its social and cultural values.
To offer the public cutting-edge and widespread ways to get in touch and share Olivetti’s accomplishments, Associazione Archivio Storico Olivetti wokes on a daily digital storytelling on the most widely social networks, it creates multimedial paths of knowledge on StoriaOlivetti.it and upgrades Archivi Digitali Olivetti, an online platform which contains more than 400.000 archivistic records of its heritage for free.
