The Maire Tecnimont historical archive is a conspicuous and precious documentary heritage, unique in the panorama of Italian business archives and exceptional among those of the most important engineering companies in the world, declared of historical interest by the Archival Superintendency for Piedmont and the Valle d’Aosta. The Foundation will take care of its conservation and restoration as well as its enhancement, promoting the knowledge and use of the preserved treasures by an increasingly vast public.
Through projects and drawings of large industrial and civil infrastructures it is possible to track the history of Italian industrial development and its absolute relevance and specificity with respect to the international panorama, signed by the great world’s names of engineering and architecture. The Foundation also takes care of the management of the Digital vault, an IT platform in which around 20,000 items have been digitised; this platform allows an effective and rapid consultation of the materials, cross-referencing descriptive categories, metadata, vocabulary terms, chronological references and tags.
