CARTA Parco Museo Rubbettino was established in 2020 in Soveria Mannelli, within the factory spaces once devoted to rotary printing. Here, the idea of enterprise as a responsible community takes shape: not separate from its surroundings, but able to generate, alongside economic value, culture, knowledge and quality of life. CARTA is a museum, but also a public space and cultural infrastructure. It traces the evolution of printing, from movable type to digital technologies, while telling the story of Rubbettino, a publishing house and printing company that has made innovation and its relationship with the local community central to its identity. Opening spaces normally reserved for production to the wider community gives the project a clear civic value. Workshops, cultural festivals, events and services turn the factory into a place of learning, exchange and growth, for both those who work there and those who live in the surrounding area. CARTA is also a contemporary art park, currently home to six site-specific works created through artist residencies with international artists, invited to reinterpret the cultural
value of the industrial site and turn it into new forms of inspiration. Its deepest identity lies in this dialogue between work, culture, art and community: the belief that a company can produce not only goods, but also relationships, opportunities, awareness and a sense of the future.
