The Massia Vittorio Passementerie Museum was established within the Antica Fabbrica Passamanerie Massia Vittorio 1843 as a place where corporate memory intertwines with artisanal knowledge handed down through generations. It preserves a rare heritage of historic passementerie, sample books, tools, and an important collection of looms dating from the late eighteenth to the mid-twentieth century.
The museum unfolds in three sections. The technical area allows visitors to observe looms and machinery still in operation, illustrating the stages of production and the precision required by this craft. The exhibition section presents passamanterie from the seventeenth to the twentieth century, with focuses on interior decoration, theatre, ceremonial use, and fashion. A specialized bibliographic and documentary collection completes the itinerary.
The main site is located in Pianezza, within the company’s production spaces, where the visit becomes an immersive experience combining historical narrative with processes still in use. A second venue is housed in the historic Turin shop in the Quadrilatero Romano, preserving original furnishings and reflecting the city’s commercial tradition.
A place where history, technique, and beauty continue to intertwine, keeping an ancient art alive today.
