Navigating between history and the future

On Monday 20th November 2023, at 11:30 am, the collaboration between Museimpresa and Google Arts & Culture was officially launched at Terrazza Martini in Piazza Diaz, Milan. Through this partnership, corporate museums and archives can now join the world’s leading cultural institutions on the platform, showcasing a collection of images and videos that highlight the history of objects, and of the men and women who invented, experimented, produced, manufactured, crafted, and created beauty and wealth.

The dedicated Museimpresa page features over 2,000 images, hosts 33 associated museums and archives, and shares just as many stories that celebrate craftsmanship and the evolution of Italy through a project of participatory culture. The initiative aims to make business culture accessible to everyone, anywhere in the world, at any time, and on any device, while also preserving it for future generations.

The event was titled: ‘Navigating between history and the future’ and featured talks by Marco Budano (General Manager, Martini Brand Homes), Antonio Calabrò (President of Museimpresa), Valeria Gasparotti (Program Manager at Google Arts & Culture), Leonardo Caffo (Philosopher), Gabi Scardi (Curator and Contemporary Art Critic), Stefania Ricci (Director of the Ferragamo Museum), and Anna Scudellari (Board Member of Museimpresa). “The prestigious collaboration between Museimpresa and Google Arts & Culture,” states Antonio Calabrò, President of Museimpresa, “adds to the quality tools available to anyone who views culture as a system of values and who appreciates historical knowledge in its broadest sense.  The museums and historical corporate archives preserve and showcase invaluable testimonies of economic and social history, narrating the evolution of Made in Italy products and their extraordinary ability to connect beauty, quality, and design. This represents a unique social capital, and affirms the ability of Italian companies to ‘do it, do it well, and make it count’ – qualities that define and place them at the forefront of efforts to achieve sustainable development. The most sophisticated digital communication technologies, in which Google plays a leading role, also make it possible to reach new, young, and demanding audiences. It is with this focus on young people, and thanks to these shared values, that Museimpresa and Google Arts & Culture can make a valuable contribution to building a better future,” concludes Antonio Calabrò.
